Hi! We’re Body Mechanix Physical Therapy and we’d like to (re)introduce ourselves!

Body Mechanix Physical Therapy is a unique practice located on Main Street in downtown Wakefield, RI. Our practice was founded in 1999 by physical therapist Karen Agostinucci to offer the Southern Rhode Island community a place to receive therapeutic services by highly qualified staff. We are proud to still be a privately owned practice after 27 years!

Our physical therapists are experienced in all aspects of pain management and rehabilitation. We take immense pride in our commitment to continuing education and maintaining advanced knowledge and skills. Our one-on-one approach has given Body Mechanix an outstanding reputation for quality care.

What sets us apart from other practices?

Our therapists have a combined 135+ years of experience treating patients of all ages and backgrounds. From neurological disorders like Parkinson’s Disease, to vertigo, to post-op, and sports injuries, our staff therapists are ready to help patients build a personalized treatment plan tailored to their individual needs. No two patients are the same, and we recognize that fact. Our office has private treatment rooms to help us provide better one-on-one care while preserving the dignity and privacy of all patients. We also have a gym with the equipment necessary to help patients progress in their care.

What kind of treatment can patients expect?

One thing that continues to set us apart is our refusal to compromise patient care; we only have licensed physical therapists on staff and patients are never double-booked. This means a patient will be under the supervision of their skilled therapist when demonstrating exercises, using gym equipment, or receiving care. Our physical therapists believe in a focus on manual therapy, and may sometimes utilize modalities such as electrical stimulation, mechanical traction, ultrasound, infrared light therapy, cupping, dry needling, and assisted exercises and stretching. We believe in a whole body approach to healing, and we want to make sure our patients are educated on their treatment plan and are able to continue caring for themselves in a safe and healthy way once they’ve left our office.
